About the IBWedge Agent
The IBWedge Agent is a user-side application that is used to control and configure the IBWedge service. It can be started on-demand, or can launch as part of startup processing when you login.
Using the Agent, you can easily configure the data format being used, IBWedge is a software-based iButton® keyboard wedge. Like a hardware wedge, it allows the input of an iButton device's data into any application that accepts normal keyboard input. As far as your computer is concerned, the input data has been typed in on the keyboard.
The IBWedge product operates as a Windows Service on your system. It also includes an Agent application that can be used to manipulate and/or configure the IBWedge service.
Unlike normal hardware-based wedges, IBWedge uses your existing iButton reader/adapter hardware, has a lower cost than a hardware solution, and can be easily upgraded to provide more functionality.
Additionally, IBWedge supports conversion of an iButton's data variety of different data formats. Data formats can be selected and/or changed easily by using IBWedge's simple configuration interface, and new/custom data formats can be authored easily in .NET.
